First Thursday

 The first Thursday of each month we hold a cigar dinner at The Churchill Society for a cost of $20. Trust me, no one walks away hungry! Dinner starts at 7pm, but feel free to show up early! Along with the great food, we also hold a raffle (or two)!!  Feel free to bring your own adult beverages.

To promote our food drive for Loaves and Fishes you can either pay $15.00 plus bring in 5 items for the food drive or the usual $20.00.

June 3, 2010 menu:

 Low Country Boil!!
A few types of sausages, corn on the cob, carrots, mushrooms, whole potatoes, garlic cloves, lemons all topped with about 25 pounds of shrimp and boiled with Louisiana seasonings.

 


May 6, 2010 menu: 

The Churchill Society's 2nd Anniversary

NY Strip Steak
Grilled zucchini and asparagus
Potato Salad
Spinach Salad


The Oliva rep provided a cigar for before and after dinner and a special anniversary cake was made for us by Shannon at Frosted Fantasies Cakes.

Walt Cukier from Perdomo Cigars joined us for dinner after the Perdomo Event that was held at the shop in the afternoon.

 



February 4th, 2010 menu:

Mardi Gras was the theme, with Seafood Gumbo, Cajun Chicken, Cajun Corn and Beans and chocolate cake.

January 7th, 2010 menu:


Roasted Pork Loin with fig and port wine sauce
Roasted Herb Potatoes
Spinach and Mandarin Orange salad with a red wine vinaigrette
Green Beans
Apple Chutney
Bread Pudding



December 3rd, 2009 Menu:

For Decembers First Thursday we combined Thanksgiving, Christmas and Winston Churchill's 135th Birthday(November 30th) together.

The menu was:

Turkey
Ham
Pan Stuffing
Baked green bean casserole
Homemade cranberry sauce
Green salad
Pumpkin pie
and Custom made Birthday cakes!!

November 12th, 2009

With two of the three contestants ill, we had to postpone our First ....Second Thursday dinner for a week, but the Spaghetti
Throw-down was well worth the wait! 

Congratulations goes out to Paul Piatt for his winning sauce! Bill Orlando gave him a run for his money and the voting was very close.

September 3rd, 2009 menu:


Was a Low Country Boil, made with Shrimp, Kielbasa, potatoes, and corn.

 



 August 6th, 2009 menu:  


Surf and Turf (NY strips and shrimp) with baked potato bar, dinner rolls with roasted garlic butter and a green salad.



July 2nd, 2009 menu: 


This month was simple cookout in the backyard. Nothing fancy just hamburgers, brats and chicken on the grill with several side dishes. Between the food, horseshoes and poker, a good time was had by all!!

 

June 4th, 2009 menu:  

This was our belated First Anniversary dinner. Once again Paul some how managed to out do himself yet again!

Beef Wellington
Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans Almondine topped with a sauce of flambeed shallots, garlic and light cream

May 7, 2009 menu:

It was our honor to be joined for dinner by Jose Blanco who was at the shop for the La Aurora event and gave a blending seminar.

Pulled pork and pulled pork sandwiches
Coleslaw with red cabbage
Oatmeal raisin and chocolate chip cookies

 


 


 
April 3rd 2009 menu:


The First Thursday Dinner in April was actually on Friday, April 3rd, to coincide with Eddies first cigar tasting of 2009, The Torano Event.  The dinner was a chili cook-off between members.We had six members who entered a crock-pot of their best chili. There were no losers here but we had three big winners! 

First place went to, Robert Palmer
Second place, Bill Orlando
Third place, Paul Piatt
